The design
About Meringue
Fifty red roses, packed into a full, rounded dome. This 50 roses bouquet is about as classic as red gets, with one twist: your chosen initial sits on top, made from white baby's breath, so the letter reads clearly against all that red. Two layers of white paper fan out around the roses like a ruffled collar, tied off with long red satin ribbons.
It's built for a proposal, Valentine's Day, an anniversary, or a birthday that calls for something big. The initial turns fifty roses into something addressed to one person, which is rather the point. Expect a photo or two before it goes anywhere near a vase.
Meringue comes in one size, at $230, as a wrapped bouquet. The initial is required for this design, so tell us the letter when you order; it is one letter. We make it by hand in our Oak Ridges studio from that day's roses and deliver across Richmond Hill, Toronto and York Region, seven days a week. Add a gift message and we'll tuck it in with the flowers.

Red roses have traditionally said romantic love, and fifty of them tends to read as a grand gesture. White baby's breath is often linked with everlasting love, a fitting material for a letter that names one person.

Care guide
How to care for Meringue
Five small habits that add days to any bouquet, then the tips that matter for these flowers.
Into water, fast
Unwrap it and get the stems into water as soon as it arrives. The wrap looks lovely, but stems cannot drink through paper.
A fresh cut
Trim about 2 cm off each stem at an angle with sharp scissors or a knife. A clean, slanted cut gives them more room to drink.
Clean vase, cool water
Fill a clean vase with cool water and stir in the flower food if there is a sachet. Strip any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
Every two days
Change the water and give the stems a small trim. Cloudy water is the quickest way to shorten a bouquet's life.
Choose the spot
Keep it away from direct sun, heaters, drafts and the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, a gas that ages flowers faster.
Flower by flower
Roses
Keep every leaf above the waterline. If a head starts to droop, recut the stem and stand it in a few centimetres of warm water for an hour.
Baby's breath
It dries beautifully. When the rest of the bouquet is done, hang a few stems upside down somewhere dark and dry for a keepsake.
For this design
- The baby's breath initial is delicate, so unwrap the two layers of paper slowly and keep your hands clear of the top while you trim the stems.
A note for pet homes
The baby's breath here can upset cats and dogs if eaten. If they have a pet, say so in your order notes and we will design around it.
Freshness
Made the day it's delivered. Not a day before.

How many roses are in Meringue?
Fifty red roses, gathered into a full, rounded dome. There is one size, priced at $230. If a rose is not at its best on the day, we swap it for one of equal or higher value in the same colour, so the look and size stay the same.
Do I have to choose an initial for Meringue?
Yes. The initial is part of this design and is required, so enter one letter when you order. We make it in white baby's breath and set it on top of the roses, where it stands out clearly against the red.
Can Meringue be delivered the same day in Toronto?
Yes, for most postal codes, if you order by 1 pm. We deliver across Toronto and York Region seven days a week. Delivery is priced by driving distance.
Can I add a gift message?
Yes, and it is free. Write it on this page or at checkout and we tuck the card in with the flowers. Prices are never included with a delivery.
What if it arrives damaged or the order is wrong?
Contact us within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos. After a quick review we send a replacement of equal value at no charge, or refund you in full to your original payment method.
Can I return or exchange it?
Fresh flowers are perishable, so we cannot accept returns or exchanges except when the order arrived damaged or was the wrong order. We also cannot refund an order sent to an incorrect address, one the recipient was not available to receive, or one you change your mind about after it has been prepared.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, free of charge until we start preparing it. Call (437) 291-5605 or email support@larisflorist.com as early as you can, especially for same-day orders. Once the flowers have been prepared or delivered, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded.
