The design
About Claret and Cream
Deep claret peonies, some fully open and ruffled, sit beside creamy white peonies with soft yellow centres, and a few round buds are still closed tight. This peony bouquet is wrapped in textured white paper and laced up one side with white ribbon, a little like a corset. In the photo, a sheer white bow with a gold edge is tied at the front.
It is for the person who waits all year for peony season and knows the exact week it starts. Give it for a birthday or an anniversary, or simply because the peonies are finally here. The deep red and cream pairing has an old-world feel, like a garden behind a stone house.
Claret and Cream comes in one size, $150, as a wrapped bouquet. Peonies are seasonal flowers, so please call us on (437) 291-5605 to check availability before you order. Those closed buds are a good sign: they open in the vase, so the bouquet keeps getting fuller after it arrives. When peonies are in, order by 1 pm for same-day delivery to most postal codes in York Region and Toronto.

Care guide
How to care for Claret and Cream
Five small habits that add days to any bouquet, then the tips that matter for these flowers.
Into water, fast
Unwrap it and get the stems into water as soon as it arrives. The wrap looks lovely, but stems cannot drink through paper.
A fresh cut
Trim about 2 cm off each stem at an angle with sharp scissors or a knife. A clean, slanted cut gives them more room to drink.
Clean vase, cool water
Fill a clean vase with cool water and stir in the flower food if there is a sachet. Strip any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
Every two days
Change the water and give the stems a small trim. Cloudy water is the quickest way to shorten a bouquet's life.
Choose the spot
Keep it away from direct sun, heaters, drafts and the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, a gas that ages flowers faster.
Flower by flower
Peonies
Closed buds open in a day or two in room-temperature water. Want them to wait for the weekend? Keep the vase somewhere cool.
For this design
- The white ribbon is laced through the wrap, so untie it from the top and peel the paper away rather than pulling the peonies out by their stems.
A note for pet homes
The peonies here can upset cats and dogs if eaten. If they have a pet, say so in your order notes and we will design around it.

Arrived damaged, or not what you ordered? Tell us within 24 hours with your order number and a photo. We replace the flowers at no charge or refund you in full.
If a stem is not at its best on the day, it does not go in. We use one of equal or higher value in the same colours, so the look and size stay the same.
Change or cancel free of charge until we start making it. Once the flowers are prepared or delivered, they are perishable and cannot be returned or refunded.
Please check the address and the recipient's phone number. We cannot refund an order sent to a wrong address or one nobody was there to receive.
Full details in our returns and refunds policy.
When are peonies available?
Peonies are seasonal, so availability changes through the year. Please check with us before ordering Claret and Cream. When they are in, we can deliver the same day to most postal codes in Richmond Hill, York Region and Toronto if you order by 1 pm.
Why are some of the peonies still closed?
A few round buds are part of the look, as you can see in Claret and Cream. Peony buds open in the vase, often quite quickly in a warm room, so the bouquet grows fuller after it arrives rather than looking its best only on day one.
Are peonies safe for cats and dogs?
Peonies are considered mildly toxic to cats and dogs and can cause stomach upset if chewed. If the recipient has a pet, mention it in the order notes and the studio will design around it.
Can Claret and Cream be delivered today?
Yes, to most postal codes in York Region and Toronto when you order by 1 pm. Pick today on this page or at checkout; we confirm it against the postal code before you pay.
Can I add a gift message?
Yes, and it is free. Write it on this page or at checkout and we tuck the card in with the flowers. Prices are never included with a delivery.
What if it arrives damaged or the order is wrong?
Contact us within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos. After a quick review we send a replacement of equal value at no charge, or refund you in full to your original payment method.
Can I return or exchange it?
Fresh flowers are perishable, so we cannot accept returns or exchanges except when the order arrived damaged or was the wrong order. We also cannot refund an order sent to an incorrect address, one the recipient was not available to receive, or one you change your mind about after it has been prepared.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, free of charge until we start preparing it. Call (437) 291-5605 or email support@larisflorist.com as early as you can, especially for same-day orders. Once the flowers have been prepared or delivered, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded.
