The design
About Blue Lullaby
Cool, calm and a little dreamy, this hydrangea bouquet starts with soft blue hydrangea sitting low in the centre. Pale roses with an icy tint rise above it, and purple pincushion scabiosa pokes out on longer stems, as if it wandered in from a meadow. Small white filler softens the gaps. The wrap is white paper with rolled edges, finished with a pale blue ribbon.
Blue Lullaby is a lovely way to welcome a new baby, and a fresh change from pink for a birthday, especially for a friend who has never been a frilly-flowers person. The palette is quiet and restful, more nursery at nap time than party, which is exactly what tired new parents tend to appreciate.
It comes in one size, $165, as a wrapped bouquet. One of our photos shows it standing in a white gift bag with gold trim. Hydrangea and scabiosa are seasonal, so a stem that isn't up to scratch on the day is swapped for one of equal or higher value in the same blues and whites. Get your order in by 1 pm and most postal codes can have it the same day.

Care guide
How to care for Blue Lullaby
Five small habits that add days to any bouquet, then the tips that matter for these flowers.
Into water, fast
Unwrap it and get the stems into water as soon as it arrives. The wrap looks lovely, but stems cannot drink through paper.
A fresh cut
Trim about 2 cm off each stem at an angle with sharp scissors or a knife. A clean, slanted cut gives them more room to drink.
Clean vase, cool water
Fill a clean vase with cool water and stir in the flower food if there is a sachet. Strip any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
Every two days
Change the water and give the stems a small trim. Cloudy water is the quickest way to shorten a bouquet's life.
Choose the spot
Keep it away from direct sun, heaters, drafts and the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, a gas that ages flowers faster.
Flower by flower
Hydrangeas
Hydrangeas drink through their petals as well as their stems. If a head wilts, recut it and sink the whole head in cool water for 30 to 60 minutes.
Roses
Keep every leaf above the waterline. If a head starts to droop, recut the stem and stand it in a few centimetres of warm water for an hour.
Scabiosa
Keep them in cool water, away from drafts and heat, which wilt the thin stems first.
For this design
- Unwrap the white paper and pale blue ribbon at the vase, and give the bouquet a cool spot out of direct sun, where the soft blues hold their colour best.
A note for pet homes
The hydrangeas here can upset cats and dogs if eaten. If they have a pet, say so in your order notes and we will design around it.

Is Blue Lullaby only for baby boys?
Not at all. Blue suits any new baby, and plenty of people choose it for birthdays because it feels fresh next to all the pink bouquets. The mix of blue hydrangea, pale roses and purple scabiosa reads calm rather than babyish.
Which flowers are in Blue Lullaby?
Soft blue hydrangea, pale roses with an icy tint, purple pincushion scabiosa and small white filler, wrapped in white paper with a pale blue ribbon. If a stem is not at its best on the day, we replace it with one of equal or higher value in the same colours.
Is a hydrangea bouquet safe around pets?
Hydrangea is generally considered toxic to cats and dogs if chewed, usually causing stomach upset. If the new family has a cat or dog, mention it in the order notes and the studio will design around it.
Can Blue Lullaby be delivered today?
Yes, to most postal codes in York Region and Toronto when you order by 1 pm. Pick today on this page or at checkout; we confirm it against the postal code before you pay.
Can I add a gift message?
Yes, and it is free. Write it on this page or at checkout and we tuck the card in with the flowers. Prices are never included with a delivery.
What if it arrives damaged or the order is wrong?
Contact us within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos. After a quick review we send a replacement of equal value at no charge, or refund you in full to your original payment method.
Can I return or exchange it?
Fresh flowers are perishable, so we cannot accept returns or exchanges except when the order arrived damaged or was the wrong order. We also cannot refund an order sent to an incorrect address, one the recipient was not available to receive, or one you change your mind about after it has been prepared.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, free of charge until we start preparing it. Call (437) 291-5605 or email support@larisflorist.com as early as you can, especially for same-day orders. Once the flowers have been prepared or delivered, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded.
