The design
About Monarch Night
This 100 roses bouquet does not need much help, but it gets some anyway. One hundred premium red roses are gathered into a big, round dome, and gold filigree butterflies cluster near the top as if they have just landed. In the photos the wrap is black paper cut into sharp points, which frames the red cleanly, and a red ribbon ties the stems.
Monarch Night is a showpiece, built for Valentine's Day or a birthday you want to go all out for. Think of the partner who says they don't need anything and quietly hopes you will ignore them. The gold catches the light, so it looks just as good in photos as it does coming through the door.
There is one size: one hundred roses, at $415. It arrives as a wrapped bouquet, made by hand in our Oak Ridges studio from that day's roses. Order by 1 pm for same-day delivery to most postal codes in Richmond Hill, Toronto and York Region, or pick a future date at checkout. A gift message can go in with the flowers; the price never does.

Care guide
How to care for Monarch Night
Five small habits that add days to any bouquet, then the tips that matter for these flowers.
Into water, fast
Unwrap it and get the stems into water as soon as it arrives. The wrap looks lovely, but stems cannot drink through paper.
A fresh cut
Trim about 2 cm off each stem at an angle with sharp scissors or a knife. A clean, slanted cut gives them more room to drink.
Clean vase, cool water
Fill a clean vase with cool water and stir in the flower food if there is a sachet. Strip any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
Every two days
Change the water and give the stems a small trim. Cloudy water is the quickest way to shorten a bouquet's life.
Choose the spot
Keep it away from direct sun, heaters, drafts and the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, a gas that ages flowers faster.
Flower by flower
Roses
Keep every leaf above the waterline. If a head starts to droop, recut the stem and stand it in a few centimetres of warm water for an hour.
For this design
- Lift the gold butterflies away before you recut the stems and set them back once the roses are in the vase. With a hundred stems, use your widest, heaviest vase or split the roses between two.
Freshness
Made the day it's delivered. Not a day before.
