The design
About Open Heart
Some funeral flowers need to be read from across a room. This open heart wreath is made entirely in white and green: white roses, chrysanthemums, lisianthus and soft clouds of baby's breath, set on a bed of fern and eucalyptus. The shape is clean and the outline is easy to make out from a distance, which matters at a service.
Open Heart is made for funerals and sympathy, as a tribute from family, friends or colleagues. It suits a group who want to send one thing together, or someone close who wants their goodbye to be seen. A heart says what many of us cannot, and this one says it softly, without colour or fuss.
It comes in one size, at $165, and is designed by hand in our Oak Ridges studio from that day's flowers. If a stem is not at its best, we use one of equal or higher value in the same colours, keeping the shape and size. Your message, if you add one, is tucked in with the flowers. Order by 1 pm for same-day delivery to most postal codes, or choose the date you need at checkout.
- Open heart wreath shape

- Fern and eucalyptus base
- All white and green
White flowers are traditionally used to express peace, respect and remembrance. A heart shape is often understood as the love that remains, and in many places white chrysanthemums are a flower of mourning and honour.

Care guide
How to care for Open Heart
It arrives ready to set down. A minute a day keeps it looking its best.
Find a cool spot
Out of direct sun, away from heaters, drafts and the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, which ages flowers faster.
Top it up daily
Arrangements drink more than you would think, especially in the first few days. Check it every day and add cool, clean water.
Lift out what fades
Pull out any stem that wilts so the rest stay looking fresh and the water stays clean.
A second life
When it starts to tire, rescue the best stems: recut them and give them a small vase of their own.
Flower by flower
Roses
Keep every leaf above the waterline. If a head starts to droop, recut the stem and stand it in a few centimetres of warm water for an hour.
Chrysanthemums
Take off every leaf below the waterline and change the water every couple of days; they will happily outlast the rest.
Lisianthus
Snip spent flowers off at the base of their little stems so the remaining buds open.
Baby's breath
It dries beautifully. When the rest of the bouquet is done, hang a few stems upside down somewhere dark and dry for a keepsake.
For this design
- The heart is a shaped design, so keep it upright and carry it with both hands from behind rather than by the flowers. Keep it somewhere cool and out of direct sun until it is needed.
A note for pet homes
The chrysanthemums and baby's breath here can upset cats and dogs if eaten. If they have a pet, say so in your order notes and we will design around it.
Freshness
Made the day it's delivered. Not a day before.
