The design
About Meadow Light
Fifteen sunflowers scattered through a deep, frothy bed of baby's breath make a sunflower bouquet that looks like a field in bloom, the yellow faces popping out of the white. It is wrapped in soft nude paper with the edges rolled outward and tied at the stems with a white ribbon. In the photos a little pink heart pick adds a pop of colour.
Bright and cheerful without trying too hard. Send it to the coworker home with a cold, the friend who just got through exams, or Mom on Mother's Day. It works for a birthday or an anniversary too, when the person you love would rather have sunshine than roses.
One size: 15 sunflowers, $125. We make it by hand in our Oak Ridges studio with that day's flowers and send it as a wrapped bouquet. Add a gift message and we tuck it in with the stems. Same-day delivery to most postal codes in Richmond Hill, York Region and Toronto just needs the order in by 1 pm.

Care guide
How to care for Meadow Light
Five small habits that add days to any bouquet, then the tips that matter for these flowers.
Into water, fast
Unwrap it and get the stems into water as soon as it arrives. The wrap looks lovely, but stems cannot drink through paper.
A fresh cut
Trim about 2 cm off each stem at an angle with sharp scissors or a knife. A clean, slanted cut gives them more room to drink.
Clean vase, cool water
Fill a clean vase with cool water and stir in the flower food if there is a sachet. Strip any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
Every two days
Change the water and give the stems a small trim. Cloudy water is the quickest way to shorten a bouquet's life.
Choose the spot
Keep it away from direct sun, heaters, drafts and the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, a gas that ages flowers faster.
Flower by flower
Sunflowers
Heavy heads drink a lot. Use a sturdy vase, keep it well filled and top it up every day.
Baby's breath
It dries beautifully. When the rest of the bouquet is done, hang a few stems upside down somewhere dark and dry for a keepsake.
For this design
- Lift the heart pick out before you recut the stems, and pop it back in once the sunflowers are in a vase.
A note for pet homes
The baby's breath here can upset cats and dogs if eaten. If they have a pet, say so in your order notes and we will design around it.
