The design
About Lilac and Linen
Fifty roses, lavender-purple mixed through with white, sit close together in a wide round head. The purple roses have a dusky, mauve depth and the whites go slightly creamy at the centre, so the two colours sit side by side like a patchwork quilt. Plain white wrapping keeps every bit of attention on the flowers.
Some people have had enough red roses for a lifetime. This one is for them: the friend with the lavender phone case, the partner who wears more grey than pink, the mother who always picks the unusual colour. It is generous enough for a milestone birthday or an anniversary, and quietly different from what everyone else sends.
One size: 50 roses, $185. It arrives as a wrapped bouquet, designed by hand in our Oak Ridges studio from that day's flowers. Purple roses can shift in tone from week to week; if a stem is not at its best, we swap it for one of equal or higher value in the same colours. Same-day delivery is possible for most postal codes in Richmond Hill, York Region and Toronto when you order by 1 pm.

Care guide
How to care for Lilac and Linen
Five small habits that add days to any bouquet, then the tips that matter for these flowers.
Into water, fast
Unwrap it and get the stems into water as soon as it arrives. The wrap looks lovely, but stems cannot drink through paper.
A fresh cut
Trim about 2 cm off each stem at an angle with sharp scissors or a knife. A clean, slanted cut gives them more room to drink.
Clean vase, cool water
Fill a clean vase with cool water and stir in the flower food if there is a sachet. Strip any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
Every two days
Change the water and give the stems a small trim. Cloudy water is the quickest way to shorten a bouquet's life.
Choose the spot
Keep it away from direct sun, heaters, drafts and the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, a gas that ages flowers faster.
Flower by flower
Roses
Keep every leaf above the waterline. If a head starts to droop, recut the stem and stand it in a few centimetres of warm water for an hour.
For this design
- Purple roses show their colour best in soft, indirect light, so a spot near a window but out of direct sun suits them.
Freshness

How many roses are in Lilac and Linen?
Fifty roses, a mix of lavender-purple and white, set close together in a wide round head and wrapped in plain white paper. It comes in one size at $185.
What shade are the purple roses?
A lavender-purple with a dusky, mauve depth rather than a bright violet, and the white roses go slightly creamy at the centre. Roses shift a little in tone, so the shade on the day may be a touch lighter or deeper than the photos.
Is a purple rose bouquet right for an anniversary?
It is a lovely choice, especially if you have given red roses before. Purple roses are often linked with enchantment and love at first sight, and 50 of them feel generous. If you want to say a few words, add a gift message at checkout.
