About Sunlit Peonies
This peony and hydrangea bouquet has the colours of late afternoon light. Fifteen pink peonies, some fully open and some still cupped, sit in a bed of creamy white hydrangea. Alstroemeria or another filler fills the gaps with little flecks of pink. The wrap is soft blush paper layered over sheer tissue, tied at the stems with pink ribbon.
A sweet choice for a birthday or anniversary, or for anyone who counts down to peony time every year. The hydrangea gives the peonies a soft cushion to open into, so the bouquet looks full on arrival and fuller still as the buds unfurl. It suits a mother, a sister or a friend whose favourite colour has always been pink.
Sunlit Peonies is $190, delivered as a wrapped bouquet with your gift message tucked in. The filler can change with what is fresh, so the small flowers between the peonies may differ from the photos. Any stem that looks tired on the day is replaced with one of equal or higher value in the same colours.

How to care for Sunlit Peonies
Five small habits that add days to any bouquet, then the tips that matter for these flowers.
Into water, fast
Unwrap it and get the stems into water as soon as it arrives. The wrap looks lovely, but stems cannot drink through paper.
A fresh cut
Trim about 2 cm off each stem at an angle with sharp scissors or a knife. A clean, slanted cut gives them more room to drink.
Clean vase, cool water
Fill a clean vase with cool water and stir in the flower food if there is a sachet. Strip any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
Every two days
Change the water and give the stems a small trim. Cloudy water is the quickest way to shorten a bouquet's life.
Choose the spot
Keep it away from direct sun, heaters, drafts and the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, a gas that ages flowers faster.
Flower by flower
Peonies
Closed buds open in a day or two in room-temperature water. Want them to wait for the weekend? Keep the vase somewhere cool.
Hydrangeas
Hydrangeas drink through their petals as well as their stems. If a head wilts, recut it and sink the whole head in cool water for 30 to 60 minutes.
Alstroemeria
Strip the leaves that would sit in the water; they yellow long before the flowers do.

- Take the blush paper and sheer tissue off together before the stems go into water, and choose a wide vase so the peonies have room to open out over the hydrangea.

If a stem is not at its best on the day, it does not go in. We use one of equal or higher value in the same colours, so the look and size stay the same.
Change or cancel free of charge until we start making it. Once the flowers are prepared or delivered, they are perishable and cannot be returned or refunded.
Please check the address and the recipient's phone number. We cannot refund an order sent to a wrong address or one nobody was there to receive.

What if it arrives damaged or the order is wrong?
Contact us within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos. After a quick review we send a replacement of equal value at no charge, or refund you in full to your original payment method.
Can I return or exchange it?
Fresh flowers are perishable, so we cannot accept returns or exchanges except when the order arrived damaged or was the wrong order. We also cannot refund an order sent to an incorrect address, one the recipient was not available to receive, or one you change your mind about after it has been prepared.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, free of charge until we start preparing it. Call (437) 291-5605 or email support@larisflorist.com as early as you can, especially for same-day orders. Once the flowers have been prepared or delivered, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded.
