Flower walls and arches
Flower walls and arches for events in Toronto and York Region
A flower wall or arch is the piece people line up to stand in front of. We design each one to order for weddings, showers and parties across Toronto and York Region, then deliver it and set it up at your venue.

What we make
Flowers for flower walls and arches
- 01
Flower walls
A wall of flowers behind a sweetheart table, a dessert table or a photo spot by the entrance. Designed to the size of your space and the colours of the day, and made from fresh flowers in our studio.
- 02
Wedding arches and arbours
Flowers for a ceremony arch or arbour, from full coverage to a heavy spray that climbs one side. Tell us whether the venue has its own arch, and send a photo so we can design around it.
- 03
Half arches and corner sprays
When a full arch is more than the space or the budget needs, a generous cluster on one corner gives the same frame in photos with far fewer stems.
- 04
Garlands
Long runs of greenery and flowers for the front of a head table, along a mantel or down the middle of a long dinner table. They photograph well and fit spaces too narrow for a wall.
- 05
Backdrops for showers and proposals
A smaller backdrop for a baby or bridal shower, a milestone birthday or a proposal, where you need one good spot for photos rather than a whole room of flowers.
Flower wall or flower arch: which one do you need?
Both give you a frame for photos, but they behave differently in a room.
A flower wall is flat and faces one way. It's best behind something: the sweetheart table, the dessert table, the spot where guests take photos as they arrive. It needs a wall or a sturdy backing behind it, and it looks best when people stand a step or two in front.
A flower arch is something you stand under or walk through. It suits a ceremony, an entrance or the middle of a garden, and it looks good from more than one side, which matters when guests sit in rows facing it.
Then there's the in-between: a half arch, or flowers clustered heavily on one corner of an arch and trailing across the top, like the one in the photo at the top of this page. It gives a similar frame in photos and uses far fewer flowers than full coverage.
If you're not sure, think about where the photographer will stand. If every shot is taken from the front, a wall works. If people will see it from the aisle, the sides and behind, go with an arch.
Wedding arch flowers for the ceremony and after
Wedding arch flowers do one job during the ceremony and can often do a second one after it. Many couples move the arch, or the flowers from it, to stand behind the head table or at the entrance to the reception. Whether that works depends on the time between the two, the distance and who is allowed to move things at the venue, so we plan it with you when we put the quote together.
Questions to settle early:
- Whose arch is it? Some venues have an arbour or arch you can use. Send a photo and its rough size.
- Indoors or outdoors? Outdoors needs a plan for wind, and a rain backup.
- Where's the sun? Flowers facing strong afternoon sun look washed out in photos and wilt faster.
- What are the wedding party wearing? The arch sits right behind them at the most photographed moment of the day.
Colour usually follows the bridal bouquet, then gets a little bolder, since the arch is seen from the back row as well as up close. The rest of the wedding, from bouquets to centrepieces, is on our weddings page.
Which flowers hold up in a flower backdrop
Flowers in a wall or an arch don't sit in a vase. Depending on how it's built, they get a little water or none at all, for hours, often in a warm room under lights. So the flowers that suit a backdrop aren't the same ones we'd put in a bridal bouquet.
Sturdy and reliable:
- carnations, which fill space well and last far longer than their reputation
- chrysanthemums
- roses and spray roses, opened a little before the event
- baby's breath, which holds its shape and even dries in place
- eucalyptus and other greenery for the base
More fragile: hydrangeas drink a lot and droop quickly without water, and peonies open fast in heat. They work where they can be kept in water, and otherwise they're better left out.
Toronto summers are humid, and an outdoor wall in July sun is much harder on flowers than a hotel ballroom in November. Tell us the setting, the time of day and how long it needs to look fresh, and we'll choose flowers for it. Our roses and hydrangeas collections show the kinds of flowers we work with.
What to tell us about your space
A backdrop is designed for one particular spot, so the more we know about it, the closer the first quote will be. When you enquire, send:
- Rough measurements. The width and height of the wall, or of the space where the arch will stand. A phone photo with a person in it helps us read the scale.
- Indoors or outdoors, and what's underfoot: grass, tile, carpet or a stage.
- Access. Stairs, an elevator, a loading door, and how far it is from parking.
- Timing. When the room opens for setup, when guests arrive and when the space has to be cleared.
- Venue rules. Many halls and hotels have rules about fixing things to walls, water on the floor and open flames. Ask the coordinator for them in writing.
- Who else is setting up. If there's a lighting or décor company, it helps to know where they'll be working.
We deliver the wall or arch and set it up at the venue, and both are included in the quote. Taking the backdrop down afterwards is worth raising when you enquire, along with the time the venue needs the space back.
Flower wall budget: what changes the quote
We don't publish prices for walls and arches, because no two are the same size, shape or flower count. These are the things that move the number most:
- Size. The obvious one, and the biggest.
- Coverage. A wall packed edge to edge takes several times the stems of one built on greenery with generous clusters.
- The flowers. A wall of roses is a different quote from one built mostly with carnations, chrysanthemums and baby's breath.
- Timing and access. An early setup, a third-floor room or a tight gap between events all add time.
Ways to keep it sensible: choose a half arch or corner spray instead of full coverage. Let one flower in one colour do most of the work; an all-white wall of roses, spray roses and baby's breath looks generous without a long list of varieties. And use the backdrop twice, for the ceremony and then behind the head table, if the venue's timing allows.
Share a rough budget when you enquire. It helps us design something that fits, instead of a dream version you then have to cut down.
Flower backdrops for showers, proposals and parties
Not every backdrop is for a wedding. Smaller ones work well for a baby or bridal shower, a milestone birthday or a proposal, where you need one corner of a room or a backyard that looks good in photos.
For these, scale matters more than anything. A living room or a restaurant's private room can't take a full wall, but a garland over a doorway, or a corner spray on a small arch, gives you the photo without crowding the guests. Outdoors, an arch on the lawn with the garden behind it needs fewer flowers than you'd think, because the garden does half the work.
Colours usually follow the event: soft blues, lilacs and whites for a baby shower, the wedding palette for a bridal shower, deep reds and pinks for a proposal. There are more ideas for each on our pages for showers and proposals.
Ideas
Flower wall and arch styles
Most backdrops are a version of one of these. Send a photo of the one you like and we'll take it from there.
- 1
Full coverage wall
Flowers edge to edge with almost no gaps. The most dramatic option, and the one that uses the most stems.
- 2
Garden-style arch
Loose and uneven, with greenery and flowers spilling over the top and down one side. Softer than a full wall, and at home outdoors.
- 3
One-flower wall
A single flower in a single colour, such as all white roses or all baby's breath. Clean and modern, and easier on the budget than a mixed wall.
- 4
Ombré
Colour fading from deep to pale, say burgundy at the base to blush at the top. It reads well from across a big room.
- 5
Greenery with clusters
A base of eucalyptus and greenery with clusters of flowers placed where the photos will frame people. A full look with fewer flowers.
- 6
Corner spray
Heavy flowers on one top corner of an arch, trailing down the side. A good choice for a smaller space or a smaller budget.
How it comes together
- 1
Send photos and measurements
Use the enquiry form with your date, the venue, rough measurements of the space and a few photos of backdrops you like. A rough budget helps too.
- 2
Talk it through by phone
We call to go through the design, the flowers that will hold up in your setting, the venue's rules and the timing for setup.
- 3
Approve the design and quote
You get the design, the flowers and a quote in writing, with delivery and setup planned with you and included. We adjust it until it fits.
- 4
Made, delivered and set up
We make the flowers by hand in our Oak Ridges studio, then deliver and set up the wall or arch at the time we planned together.
Questions
What people ask about flower walls and arches
How much does a flower wall cost?
We quote each flower wall and arch individually, because the size, how full it is, the flowers and the setup all change the price. Send rough measurements, photos you like and a budget through the form, or call (437) 291-5605, and we'll design something to fit.
Is setup included?
Yes. We deliver the flower wall or arch and set it up at your venue, and both are part of the quote. Tell us when the venue opens for setup and when guests arrive. Taking it down afterwards depends on the venue's timing, so mention it when you enquire.
Are your flower walls made with real flowers?
Yes. We design every order by hand in our studio from fresh flowers, and walls and arches are no different. That's why we ask about heat, sun and how long it needs to look its best: fresh flowers out of water need the right choices.
How far ahead should we book a flower wall or arch?
The more notice the better, since these take a lot of stems. Many couples plan them along with the rest of their wedding flowers, months ahead. Send your date when you enquire and we'll tell you what's realistic.
Can you put flowers on the arch our venue already has?
Often, yes. Send a photo of the arch or arbour with its rough size, and tell us what it's made of and how it stands. We'll design the flowers around it and plan the setup with you as part of the quote.
Can a flower wall go outdoors?
Yes, with the right flowers and a plan for wind and weather. Strong sun and summer heat are hard on petals, so we lean on sturdier flowers like carnations, chrysanthemums and roses, and we'll ask about shade and a backup if it rains.
Do you make flower backdrops for baby showers and birthdays?
Yes. A smaller backdrop, a garland over a doorway or a corner spray on a small arch suits a living room, a restaurant's private room or a backyard. Tell us about the space and the colours when you enquire.
Tell us about your day
We quote every event on its own. Share what you know so far, even if it is just a date and a colour, and we will take it from there.
